According to the latest Consumer Price Index report, inflation was 0.4% in September and 3.7% over the last year. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, was up 4.1% over the last 12 months. While both rates are about double the Fed's 2% target, in some parts of the country inflation is even higher. The Fed is trying to slow
